I'm a frustrated mommy. Jaden is not a good solid eater, really only wants a bottle and I really want to try and get him off the bottle and to rely on solids. Pretty much every time I put him in his highchair he will throw his food on the floor or spit it out. I have anxiety leaving him with anyone because I know he probably won't eat good for them.
I feel like I have tried everything and nothing is working, and on top of that because of not eating a lot of solids he will wake up at night around 3 AM and want a bottle. I seriously can't even think of having another child until I get this one to start eating good. Anyone have the same problem? Any suggestions would be great except for telling me the obvious of going to my doctor haha because I have done that. Or am I being worried for nothing? He is a happy little guy and the joy of my life, I just want him to grow up strong and healthy.

*Honeymoon*
Josh and I went on a wonderful honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico for 8 day 7 nights in an all inclusive resort. We had a blast from relaxing on the beach, swimming with the dolphins, snorkeling, all the way to taking a tour to the Chichen-itza Pyramids (that was Josh's favorite). All and all it was a very fun and romantic honeymoon and we owe it all to my new in-laws for making it possible!

Hey sorry I missed ya last night. I was in a meeting when you texted me and then wasn't quite sure how to answer because I didn't know the specifics of your situation. But anyways! Sounds like little Jaden is doing the normal bottle love thing. It took a while for us to get T detached from his bottle too...eventually they get hungry enough that the bottle just ain't cuttin it. I don't know what kinds of solids you are offering him but maybe add some spices or something to make them a little tastier? Also introducing a sippy cup is a great way for them to let go of the bottle, if you haven't already. And eating at the table with him, saying "OH YUMMMY!" with each bite might get him a little more excited about his food (whether its just him eating or both of you). I know its frustrating but hang in there! Just like everything else this too is only a phase! Love and miss ya tons!
totally been there. Grace refused to eat solids until she was about 10 months old. Sometimes I could get her to munch on crackers and rice...not rice cereal, rice. ANd only sometimes would she eat rice. But other than that she wouldn't eat anything. Then one time when we were camping, I was eating with her on my lap and she stole my spoon and starting eating my beef stew. She ate the whole bowl! So for the next three months of her life she ate rice, noodles, and beef stew. And I mean that was it. What I finally did was to cut back feedings. I was nursing, but the same thing applies to the bottle I think. At night, I refused to feed her. I would give her a drink of water, but wouldn't nurse her. In the morning she was so hungry she would gobble down applesauce or beef stew. It took about 3 very long sleepless nights for us both, but after that no more waking up in the night and she she would eat lots of solids. She loved soups and stews. I would just mash up chunks or noodles, and she would gobble them down. She still won't eat bread, but she's branched out so much. Good Luck!
hey girl! so I am kinda going thru the same thing with Hux. He eats solids ok but won''t take a sippy very well at all. I am trying to get him to cut down on his bottle feedings and eat more solids plus drink out of a sippy cup, however he just throws a fit if he wants a bottle and all I give him is a cup. It is so frustrating and hard to know what to do. I have a friend who has 2 kids (5 and 2) and she told me to relax and not stress so much about things, with time he will get the hang of it just keep attempting and being consistent but don't drive myslef crazy. I am trying to do this but it sure is hard. Well if you find anything that works please pass it on to me and I will do the same. Just know your not alone in being a frustrated momma! Love ya cuz!
It's Natalie - ummm, from church... have you tried the baby foods that look like they are in a capri sun package? They have a few flavors at Safeway but the best variety at Target - you might try those, they are kind of like a bottle - they just suck the food out. Andy goes nuts over them. Maybe your little man is just independent :)
