*Super Baby Porridge*

I received this book from my mother in-law for Christmas, because she was trying to help me with Jaden's eating problem. Well he has now become a good eater but still this book has been supper useful with wonderful ideas for awesome and healthy baby/toddler food.

The best recipe in the book is called Super Porridge from brown rice. It's a super simple recipe, and I would have to say from trying it myself and the fact that Jaden LOVED it that it's a winner!! You can also make super porridge from other oats, grains, and oatmeal's, however, I like the brown rice one the best because to me it's the most simple. I highly recommend this book to all mommies with babies, toddlers and even older kids. I myself might start eating it as well since it's very healthy and good for you.

Here is the recipe for the brown rice porridge:
- Measure 1 cup of water and put on the stove to boil.

- While the water is boiling pour in a blender 1/4 cup of brown rice and blend for 2 minutes. It's very important that you blend for the whole two minutes to really get the rice to almost be a powder. If your baby is older you can only do it for 20-30 second for a chunkier texture (but I think it's better the other way).

- Once the water starts to boil turn the heat down to the lowest setting. Sprinkle the ground rice into the water while stirring briskly with a wire whisk.

- Cover the pot and let sit over low heat for about 10 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.

-You can store the porridge in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and in the freezer for up to 2-3 weeks (although it changes the texture when you freeze it).

To make it taste yummy I add a tiny bit of butter, sugar, and whole milk. You can also add any kind of fruit or veggie to it as well grounded up.

*Sweet 16*

My sweet little Jaden is now 16 months old!! I truly love this little boy more and more everyday! I love how he has learned to give kisses and hugs that melt my heart, and how when he see's a picture of Jesus he points to it and says "Jesus" (he already has a small love and recognition for the Savior) so sweet!

He copies anything and everything that Josh and I do, and absorbs information and new things so fast it amazes me. He is talking a ton too, although most of it does not makes any sense but it's still fun hearing him walk around talking gibberish to himself.

He is still doing very well with eating solids and has started to move back up on the growth charts (he finally got to 20lbs woo hooo hahha) which most toddlers have done by 12 months. I do admit that I like him small because for one he still fits in most of his 6-9 month clothes and he stays my baby for longer! He is the LOVE of our lives and feel so blessed that he was born to be my sweet son for time and all eternity.

From 1 month old to 16 months...where has the time gone?

Very messy eater as you can tell, and I love the Spaghetti-O on his face hahahah it cracks me up! His hair is also way out of control and long, however, my wonderful sister will be here soon to cut it....thank goodness!

*Valentine's Day*

Valentine's Day was a success this year...hhaha for the most part. When I say for the most part I mean we had Jaden with us for our romantic night since we didn't have a babysitter, but we enjoyed it none the less. I made a nice dinner, yummy dessert, and exchanged some little gifts. Jaden also got some little Valentines treats from the childcare at the gym I go too, which I thought was so precious.

Here is Jaden enjoying his Valentine cupcake!

My wonderful husband being so thoughtful got me "Breaking Dawn -Part 1-" which now makes my collection almost complete!!

Here are just a few random pictures of our sweet little Valentine having fun running around in Josh's Washington beanie. It's so funny because Josh will put this beanie on his head and he will run into our bedroom, look in the mirror and laugh, then run back to us in the family room hahah it's very amusing to us.

*Dune Trip #2*

I forgot my camera on this dune trip, so didn't get any pictures of Jaden :( but will post some cute ones I have taken recently just for fun..because what's a post without pictures of my sweet little guy! As usual the dunes were awesome and we got some good rides in. I'm still not the best but hopefully someday I'll be able to hang with the big boys.

Here are a few pictures of Jaden. My sweet little boy was not feeling to well because he got four shots at his 15 month check-up. I guess the only thing about him not feeling well is that he is super snuggley!!

Hahha he was so out of it from not feeling good he didn't even notice I put toilet paper on his head...sweet little boy!

*Car-Seat Canopy....My favorite craft*

My first sewing project with my new sewing machine was yet another car-seat canopy for my friend. I have made quite a few of them and am really starting to get pretty good at the basics of sewing. I love to make them and find so much joy in putting together cute fabric to make such a simple but wonderful creation.

Josh wants to me to sell them, but I figure since there so easy to make that people would probably just end up making them themselves instead of paying for one. Also I'm still obviously not the best with the sewing machine yet so that would also factor in as well.

Anyways if anyone would like me to make them one (for free) let me know cause I could use a good project and the practice!

*Honeymoon*

Josh and I went on a wonderful honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico for 8 day 7 nights in an all inclusive resort. We had a blast from relaxing on the beach, swimming with the dolphins, snorkeling, all the way to taking a tour to the Chichen-itza Pyramids (that was Josh's favorite). All and all it was a very fun and romantic honeymoon and we owe it all to my new in-laws for making it possible!
